couple of videos
Here's a little video I made of my nephew Sean who is 13 months old. He and I were waiting for the others while they were on the dinosaur ride. That ride is a bit scary for me so I was glad to sit this one out. Take a look at how cute he is. He's such a happy boy! I could just eat him up!
This video is Rebecca swimming in the pool at 10:30 at night! I love how it's warm enough to swim that late at night in end of Sept. She learned to swim a few weeks ago... maybe a month or so... and she hasn't been in a pool since. She didn't forget how!!! Yeah!
Video from Nemo the Musical at Animal Kingdom
This is a part of the scene when Nemo has been caught and put in the fish tank at the dentist's office. It's a bit jumbled at first because Nemo is trying to figure out where he is.
I know it's been a week since I've been able to post. I was too exhausted at the end of each day to post anything of our vacation. I'll get to that later though. I will say that I'm burned to a crisp!!! My shoulders really hurt so I'm not going to be long on the computer right now.
I just wanted to share our bit of excitement from last night.
We were sitting in the family room and Jay heard a noise. He asked if that was thunder and I turned the tv down so we could figure out what it was. It was the wings of a bird flapping in the chimney. After a while, Jay got aggravated with listening to it so he took a small net and opened the flue trying to either push the bird up the chimney or down to catch it and let it go outside. Well, it wasn't just one bird! Below is a picture of just a few in the fireplace.
After realizing that there were too many to handle on his own, he went across the street to a borrow a neighbors BB gun. After he realized that wouldn't work, he called a 24 hr. emergency pest guy. So, for $225 the guy came over and got over 50 birds out and closed the flue. He said that he didn't even get the tip of the iceburg! There must be atleast 50 + more still in the chimney. He'll be back this afternoon and also put a thing at the top of the chimney to prevent this from happening again. Thank the Lord he got them out of the fireplace with out letting any get loose. I had horrible visions of a bird flying rampant in the house!
Crazy huh?

Downtown Disney
I was in a pretty sour mood Sunday afternoon with all the rain in the forecast. We went to Walmart and spent a ton of money and then went out to dinner with my in-laws. After dinner, the rain had slacked down and eventually stopped. We went to Downtown Disney for a while and Becca had a great time. She says this is her best vacation ever. Jay has created a monster with the pin trading. She loves looking for cast members and trading her pins for something better.
We had to stop to get samples at Ghiradeli chocolates while there. That's a must for all who visit Downtown Disney. Rebecca bit into her caramel and chocolate piece and her front tooth fell out!
Here she is right after it came out. It barely bled and didn't hurt much according to her.
Here she is a few minutes later when the shock wore off. She now has 2 holes in her mouth and loves the nick name "Toothless wonder" Her other top tooth is loose but no where near coming out anytime soon. She's been all smiles since losing that top tooth. More to come later on our day at Magic Kingdom. I'm done with the computer now! Hey, I am on vacation!!!
Sea World
We bought a card reader for the laptop so I can share some pictures. I'm going to do several posts so be sure to see them all.
This first photo is under Wild Arctic. The girls are standing in front of a wall of ice. It was freezing! We loved it.
Below is a picture of Emily playing in the water. She loves to get wet. She is so much fun to watch! Rebecca hates to be wet but after seeing Emily have so much fun, she finally broke down and got wet too.
Here is a pic of Shamu with a man on his nose. Amazing show!
Here is a shark. They have an area called Shark Encounter. You go underground and ride an escalator (flat like at airports) and the sharks swim all around you. It's so cool to look up and see a shark swimming above you.Sunday, September 16, 2007
We're here
We made it to Florida safely! Thanks to all who prayed. It rained buckets from the moment we left home until we reached South Carolina. That, along with driving the speed limit, turned our 10 hour driving trip to 12 hours. Because of the pouring rain, the girls slept wonderfully on the way down here. Becca woke up at each gas and restroom break but slept good for the most part. We got to McDonald's by Sea World Sat. morning at 8:30 and had to wake Emily up out of a dead sleep.
After breakfast, we met Angie, Jamie and Morgan at Sea World. It was so great to see them. I can't wait for them to move farther north so we can see them more.
It was busy there with it being Sat. and it was so hot that we tried to do lots of indoor stuff. I took a bunch of photos but brought the wrong USB cable to upload them to the laptop. I took these two with my cell phone and will try to take decent ones with it as well as the regular camera and the video camera to share with you all. Above is a picture of a palm tree that I thought was beautiful. I love all of the greenery as well as palm trees. They are by far my favorite plant! We went to church this morning by ourselves. We invited Jay's family to go with us but of course, they chose not too. Afterwards, we are left over Papa John's pizza from dinner. Now, we are heading out to Walmart to buy some groceries and Disney souvenirs. Tonight, we will be going to Downtown Disney. I love that place!!! Tomorrow, we will be spending the entire day at Magic Kingdom!!! I'll post again later as I get the time.

Only 2 hours before we are supposed to leave!!! YIPEE!!! If you see this tonight, please pray for our traveling mercies as we (Jay) will be driving all night long to Orlando. First stop, Sea World with our dear friends Angie, Jamie (her hubbie) and Morgan. We are all so excited to see them again.
I'm bringing my laptop so I can hopefully update the blog with some pictures of our week. I was so busy last time that I only got to use the computer a couple times as I was eating breakfast so we shall see.
later taters... I'm off to see Shamu, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. Again, please pray for our safety!

SATAN'S MEETING
I received this as a forward in an e-mail and thought it was too true not to share with others. Read it and then really think about it. The amusement park part stepped on my toes a bit as I really like them and am going to Disney World next week.
SATAN'S MEETING: (Read even if you're busy)
Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said,
"We can't keep Christians from going to church."
"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."
"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with
their savior."
"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is
broken."
"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish
dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship
with Jesus Christ."
"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:
"Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that
vital connection throughout their day!"
"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.
"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable
schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.
"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."
"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to
work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty
lifestyles."
"Keep them from spending time with their children."
"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape
from the pressures of work!"
"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small
voice."
"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive."
"To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home
and see to it that every store and restaurant in the
world plays non-biblical music constantly."
"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."
"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."
"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."
"Invade their driving moments with billboards."
"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs,
sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products,
services and false hopes."
"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their
husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's
important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. "
"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands" Give them
headaches too!
"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin
to look elsewhere."
"That will fragment their families quickly!"
"Give them Santa Clause to distract them from teaching their children
the real meaning of Christmas."
"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection
and power over sin and death."
"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."
"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."
"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation.
Send them to amusement parks, sporting events,
plays, concerts, and movies instead.
"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"
"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip
and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."
Load their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek
power from Jesus."
"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their
health and family for the good of the cause."
"It will work!" "It will work!"
It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments
causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here
and there.
Having little time for their God or their families...
Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.
I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?
You be the judge!!!!!

Yesterday was the annual open house for the gym where both girls have been taking gymnastics since they were 18 mo (Emily) and 20 mo (Rebecca) old. It's a fun Sunday afternoon when they get their gold metals and have pretty much free reign over the gym for a few hours. I'll narrate below each picture.
This is Emily and Rebecca with Miss Robin. She's been Becca's teacher for a couple of years now.
Here's Emily with Mr. Justin. He was the beginners teacher last school year and also teaches the pre-team. During the summer, they switched the pre-team from Tues. to Mondays so Mr. Justin wasn't Em' teacher. Hopefully it'll go back to the "norm" for class today. He is goofy with the children but he also is very good in helping learn a new technique.
Here is Emily coming out of Winston the Whale. See all the chalk on him? It's a huge blowup whale. You climb in through the mouth, run around and climb up a rope ladder to come down the slide --out his rear end. I was pretty grossed out the first few times I saw it when Becca was a baby but I've gotten used to the idea since. I'm waiting for one of the girls to question if he's pooping you out. This is Emily's favorite thing to do at the gym.
Rebecca has tried so hard to climb to the top of the rope. It's hard pulling 58 lbs. to the top. She mastered it several months ago and this is now her absolute favorite thing to do. It was the splits. Here she is taking a break for a photo op. She had already climbed it 3 or 4 times before this picture so her arms were a bit tired.
She made it without any problems! An older boy was sitting there in awe that she could make it to the top. Of course she thinks it's no big deal.
Here is Emily being thrown into the pit by Daddy. It may look like fun but as an adult, it's more work than fun! The more you weigh, the farther you sink and it gets difficult getting out. They use the pit for many different things, one being to strengthen the girls. They'll jump in and race to the back wall and back. Very good for the leg muscles!!!
Do you think she has enough chalk on her hands to play on the bars?
Two at once! Talented Becca! They had a great day. Afterwards, we went back to church. As tired as they were, no one fell asleep in the car. They had jr. choir with their new wonderful teacher. But as soon as the preacher started preaching, Emily fell asleep. And boy was she snoring away. Only those sitting closest to us could hear her though.
Today, I will try to get the girls to do some school work but we have much that needs to be done before vacation that I'm doubting much will be accomplished this week. However, nothing will get done with me on the computer so I must go for now. ONLY 5 more days until we're in Florida!!!

Emily had her friends Halley and Brysen spend the night last night. This was my third sleepover as a mother and by far the best! I'm not sure if it's because I love them more, they are so well behaved or if it's because they are younger. We went to Chick-fil-a for dinner where they ate and played. When we got home, Halley wanted to watch Nanny McPhee. She loves that movie. They all had drooping eyes but perked up when Emily opened her presents. She got a Tinkerbell clock from Halley and said, "I've always wanted a clock!!!"
L-R: Brysen, Emily, Halley, Rebecca
From Brysen, Emily got a Cinderella head with lots of hair accessories. Remember those mom? No, I didn't sit and play with it but I did braid all of the girls' hair before they went to bed. They all wanted curly hair and this was the best I was willing to do without using rollers. I haven't undone their hair yet so I'm not sure how frizzy it will be for Becca and Emily's soccer games today!
They all fit on Becca's king size bed. Here's a photo of them snoozing around 11 pm. They laid down at 10:30 and were asleep within minutes. All those years of taking naps together taught them that there's no playing in bed. At one point, in the middle of the night, Halley was horizontal and Hello Kitty's rear was in Brysen's face but no one seemed to mind. Rebecca and Brysen were up at 6:45, Halley crawled out at 8 and Emily is still snoozing away. We have to leave for Rebecca's game in 45 minutes so I really need to get busy!!!

Only nine more days
until we leave for Disney World!!! So much to do and so little time... I'm so excited. Jay has spent a bunch of time online trying to get a rough draft itinerary done for us. There's so much we want to do and I know we won't be able to do it all. I had to remind him last night that the girls can't handle all that he has planned. It'll be a blast though. Jay's sister, brother-in-law, nephew, mom, step-dad and possibly aunt and uncle are going as well.
Well, I just wanted to share my excitement! I need to crack the whip and get Becca to hurry up and finish her schooling. We have a few errands to run and I need to get "stuff" together for a yard sale.
