I bought the girls one of those do-it-at-home kits to make a gingerbread house. We do it every year and it's a joy watching them get more hands on with it each year. Although I'll be honest, I've put it off this year thinking of all the mess it makes in the process.
But the smiles I get is well worth the mess the icing makes...
Rebecca is so serious when it comes to putting the candy on it. It has to be just so!
And here is the finished product. Of course it doesn't look the way the box does. Does it ever? Also, the girls saved a big chunk of the candy to eat because they know once it gets hard, there's no chewing into that candy.
