I love spring!

Many people dislike spring because of allergies. Our family is very blessed that they do not affect us. I love the rebirth of the dormant plants, hearing the birds sing and wind blowing (pollen) into the house. Yes, it makes me do a lot more cleaning to get the yellow coat off of furniture and everything but it's worth it. I love sleeping with the windows open and hearing the birds early in the morning. It really puts me in a better mood. The sounds remind me of my childhood summers spent at the river with my Nanny and Pa. I love that we can sit outside all day and not grow weary of being out doors. On days like today, we often eat outside as well as do school outdoors.

We had fun tonight at soccer practice. Rebecca is excelling in soccer. She's really getting the concept and doing well. She isn't the fastest nor does she have a powerful kick but she knows what she's doing! Her coach works them hard on those drills. Tonight, he asked who could throw the ball the farthest. -A skill that is needed in this sport- The children all yelled "Rebecca and Abby". Abby isn't on the team but is the coach's 11 year old daughter. Well, it was proved tonight that Rebecca can throw the ball the farthest. She's going to have to play soft ball next year!

For the hour and a half that Rebecca practiced with her team, I got to sit and read while Emily and Jay played. They practiced soccer, throwing the ball, red light/ green light and did some other soccer type drills. Then we ended up going for a walk. I tried to read afterwards but got sucked into a game of duck, duck, goose. After several rounds, I really wanted to read. I'm into a good book and finding quiet time is difficult. Anyways, we heard sirens and Emily said I better hide, they were coming to get me because I wouldn't play. What a goof ball.

The girls are in the shower and Jay wants to challenge me in "Are you smarter than a fifth grader". I'm just glad that we have a wonderful spring that we can spend lots of time outdoors.

Well, this is Virginia... Hold on a day or so and it'll change drastically!
